We are a female-owned cannabis company seeking to shape the future of the industry. We recently won an adult-use Social Equity license in the State of Illinois, and launched our first dispensary, Sociale, located in Park Ridge, IL in August 2023
Our growth plans span Illinois dispensaries, out-of-state dispensaries, and craft grow operations. We are committed to social equity at every touchpoint, passionate about fostering community development, cannabis education, and cannabis justice reform through each project
Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain and expand the multi-brand cannabis business in retail
- Create a Retail assortment plan across all categories (in partnership with internal, cross-functional partners: Retail Teams, Wholesale Partners, GP)
- Partner with and build professional rapport with brand partners to ensure the dispensary is always stocked
- Optimizing brands to meet sales targets and brand awareness
- Develops & maintains strong working relationships with 3rd party cultivators and manufacturers to purchase cannabis products for the market dispensaries
- Coordinate with Dispensary General Manager to educate Dispensary Staff on new (In-Store) products
- Achieve sales and drive growth through sell-through and gross margin target
- Work with finance teams to establish and meet Open-To-Buy (OTB) and sales targets across retail based on sales trends and potential
- Maintains a purchase and delivery schedule
- Work with the marketing team to ensure synergy between editorial content and retail assortment for optimal customer experience.
- Coordinate with the marketing team for monthly events to drive sales during peak opportunities (holidays, increased traffic, new brand, and product launches, promotional cadence)
- Enters purchase orders into appropriate systems in an accurate and timely manner
- Follows up on all late orders and upcoming shipments and completes balances as needed
- Completes all purchase order modifications, including but not limited to delivery extensions, cancellations, and cost & retail changes
- Communicates with vendors via phone and email regarding PO modifications/changes, PO shipment statuses as well as any other inquiries
- All other duties as assigned
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to strong odors, bright lights, loud sounds, small and secured work areas, and possible crowds.
- The employee will routinely operate typical business office equipment, including computer hardware.
- When you are not involved in purchasing you will help on customers on the sales floor
What We Are Looking For
- Must be 21 years of age.
- 3- 5 years of Purchasing experience preferred.
- Must be proficient in Google Suite, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Cannabis connoisseur; deep knowledge
- Strong negotiating skills
- Proven track record for developing compelling product assortments in multiple categories
- Relationship-oriented
- On top of the cannabis market/trends
- Strong analytical skills and financial acumen, with experience in managing an open to buy
- Flexible and ability work in a dynamic environment
- Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
