Construction activities typically include installation, abandonment, or retirement of pipelines and both company and customer owned facilities. It may also include, but is not limited to, leak repair, paving, leakage inspections, corrosion installations, etc.

KEY RESULTS:
- Safe/efficient high-quality construction work that complies with policies, practices, and standards
- Collaboration among engineering, technical services, and construction on project design and installations
- Completed construction projects which meet customer expectations and budget requirements
- Positive relationships with external municipalities and local authorities
- Timely and accurate record keeping related to billing, project scope changes, mapping, and other field records
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions independently
- Advises and observes proper methods of pipeline installations and other maintenance activities
- Notifies governmental agencies, other utilities, and customers of construction work being performed on company facilities
- Coordinates with construction services leaders and resource planners, field operations leaders, logistics and to ensure internal/external crew efficiencies are achieved
- Works across geographic boundaries whenever necessary
- Actively interacts with crew leaders to ensure performance adheres to established metrics and policies/procedures
- Determines the best construction practice (i.e. directional boring, trenching, etc.) is employed for the project through consultation with construction services leaders and/or specialists
- Monitors, and orders, when necessary, materials needed and used on the job
- Notifies resource planners when there is a need for welder, stopple crew, directional bore crew, etc., on the job
- Coordinates capital construction and improves capital spending efficiency
- Implements best practices
- Partners with engineers and engineering technicians to develop best-value construction practices and cost estimations for large pipeline projects
- Maintains an environment of effective internal/external customer satisfaction
- Implements activities and processes to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost effective delivery of service to customers
- Effectively uses technology, tools and planning techniques to improve process results
- Creates and maintains valued relationships with government entities, industry associates, company affiliates, and contractors
- Promotes and assures a safe working environment and public safety
- Executes construction services strategies
- Manages efficient, safe and quality construction of new and replacement mains and services, joint sealing, cathodic protection, service tie-overs.
- Communicates concerns about contractor qualifications and certifications and ensures proper documentation
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in plant-field and/or natural gas construction operations, including at least one year as a lead person in these functions.
- Working knowledge of gas operations policies and procedures and applicable federal, state and local codes/regulations
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and organize, including attention to detail to generate accurate and timely daily-progress records and as-built project sketches
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across business unit boundaries (i.e. field operations, technical operations, logistics) as well as build rapport with contractors and customers
- Self-motivation and demonstrated ability to work with little direct supervision and make sound, independent decisions
- Prior experience in accurately interpreting construction drawings and operations maps
- Prior experience in overseeing the installation of pipelines as designed
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be willing and able to accept shift, on-call, emergency response, emergency assignments and work overtime
- Working knowledge of and experience using a computer
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in both writing and speech
- High school diploma
- Prior experience developing accurate tie-in plans
- Work Management System experience in executing design capital job orders, progress reports, and job inquiries
- Construction inspection experience
- Experience working with pipeline contractors
- Understanding of Project Management principles
