JOB SUMMARY: Ensure that exceptional guest service is provided at all times in the restaurant . Assist with all Team Member duties including their training. Take responsibility for all food, quality, consistency, production and presentation during assigned shift. Help prepare prep lists, prepare food for service, delegate job assignments to line cooks and work cooking line during shift.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Knowledge of departmental Guest Service Standards.
- Knowledge of casino promotions.
- Prepare and serves meals according to established standards.
- Ensure food quality and quantity in food service areas.
- Prepare prep lists and food requisitions.
- Responsible for all food items being rotated.
- Monitor food temperatures and times on precooked food.
- Responsible for all food items and paper products being stocked on cook line.
- Clean all areas of kitchen to maintain the highest standard of food, equipment and facility sanitation.
- Ensure work areas are in compliance with OSHA and HACCP health and safety standards and regulations.
- Make recommendations to improve menu offerings, service, and procedures.
- Assist Sous Chef in training new Team Members.
- Coordinate with Sous Chef to provide timely effective food service.
- Assist the Sous Chef in developing food lists and ensures that sufficient items are ordered weekly.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required skills and knowledge:
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- 2 years’ experience in line cooking for a kitchen facility and/or culinary training.
- 6 months supervisory experience in a kitchen facility.
- Current knowledge of occupational safety issues.
- Food Handlers Permit.
- Pass NRWC pre-employment testing.
- Ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to obtain a Class II Gaming License.
Preferred skills and knowledge:
- 2 years’ experience in a high volume kitchen facility.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, squat and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for the assigned shift.
- Ability to tolerate a noisy, smoke-filled environment.
