We are currently looking to fill several potential Pharmacy Technician positions as listed below:
LOCATION: Devens, MA
Note: To be considered, we are required to submit the following:

Pay: $25-$27/hr
STATUS: Full-Time
HOURS: 40 hours per week, Sunday-Saturday, between 4:00am and 10:00pm
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The individuals providing Pharmacy/Medication Technician services must have the appropriate educational qualification, licensure, and board certification (where required) which conforms to community standards and all local, state and Federal laws and regulations applicable to the delivery of Pharmacy/Medication Technician(s) services to members of the general public.
- The applicants must have at least one year of Pharmacy/Medication Technician experience, have a current CPR certification, and experience working in a correctional environment is preferred, but not required.
- The applicants must possess knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures to perform job activities on various types of medical equipment and automated systems and of safety principles and infection control in the patient care environment.
- Possess the ability to relate and deal effectively with Physicians, peers, inmates, and others; to recognize, report, and record changes in patient’s physical and emotional condition; and to administer medication.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Assist the staff pharmacist in ordering, stocking, storing, and dispensing of prescription and non-prescription medications while demonstrating knowledge of the budgetary guidelines and BOP Formulary constraints.
- Maintain pharmacy areas in a clean and orderly fashion consistent with departmental safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist the pharmacist in maintaining stock of up-to-date medications (checking for outdates per policy) in the main pharmacy, satellite camp, crash carts, emergency bags and Automated Dispensing Systems.
- Assist the Pharmacist with maintaining stock of forms as needed and updating Pill Line/Restricted Medication cards for inmates as well as filing Medication Administration Records into the Medical Record.
- Assist the Pharmacist in preparing unit dose or pre-packaged medications.
- Complete and maintain competency as indicated by the ability to complete the Pharmacy Competency Module while maintaining knowledge of BOP Formulary and any changes to this document.
- Maintain the narcotics count and the needle and syringe inventories.
- Maintain and re-stock adequate supplies for the “Night Stock” cabinet and perform audits of the “Night Stock” or Automated Dispensing System.
- Assist and/or conduct pill-line for the inmate population in specified medical and/or mental health housing unit areas.
- Possess a working knowledge and maintain technical computer skills pertaining to pharmacy issues.
- Must participate in Improving Organizational Performance Data and Quality Assurance Activities as directed by the Pharmacist or HSA.
