POSITION SUMMARY

As a member of the Purchasing department, this position manages the Purchasing Department for all locations. Negotiates contract terms of agreement and pricing. All duties are performed in a manner that is consistent with the goals and policies of the company, as well as in compliance with ISO standards, where applicable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for placing orders with vendors and suppliers, processes purchase orders through system, which includes approval cycles, distribution, and receiving confirmation. This includes receiving bids and verifying specifications on purchase requests.
• Manages all Purchasing related activities, recommends and implements new or revised processes and procedures.
• Negotiates contract terms of agreement and pricing to ensure the best possible rate.
• Researches potential vendors, comparing and evaluating offers or samples from vendors.
• Prepares administrative reports and information for SVP, Factory Management, along with proposals, reports, and activities.
• Performs monthly inventory in conjunction with department managers for all chemicals and lab supplies.
• Attends all required management meetings and coordinates meetings and communication between Purchasing, Factory Management, and Sales & Marketing.
• Maintains close communication with management of manufacturing regarding any backorders or late delivery of raw material, chemical or human products. Provides alternatives for material purchases and timelines.
• Places orders with vendors and suppliers, processes purchase orders through ERP system, which includes approval cycles, distribution, and receiving confirmation. This includes receiving bids and verifying specifications on purchase requests.
• Compares items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.
• Provides purchasing planning and control reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Management or Purchasing; and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requires advanced general office skills, proficiency with a variety of commonly used software programs for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Proficient with company ERP system; following training. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously. Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy, and a clear courteous and professional manner when dealing with employees, suppliers, contractors, and members of the public.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
