Purpose
The primary duty of this position will be to perform machining in a production capacity along with other related tasks. These tasks will include working with QC and engineering on prints, production machining of job shop work, and other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with engineering, QC and production to establish and maintain efficient manufacturing processes and lead times.
- Read and interpret customer supplied blueprints, create process prints, internal work instructions and job processing travelers.
- In-Process inspection of parts and monitoring of processes to ensure parts adhere to the company’s standards and exceed customer expectations.
- Document final setup procedures and maintain future improvements of programs.
- Machining of low volume and custom, one off job shop work.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Understanding and ability to edit G and M code.
- Skills and related experience in complex component manufacturing processes using CNC lathes.
- Experienced understanding of machine controls (Fanuc, Mazak, Haas, Mitsubishi).
- Experienced understanding of print reading and of GD & T.
- Awareness of cutting tool technology and terminology.
- Experienced understanding and awareness of measurement tool usage (Gage pins, calipers, micrometers, etc.)
Education/Training/Experience
- Related trade school or secondary school program
