JOB TITLE: CLINICAL
COORDINATOR
DEPARTMENT: CLINICAL

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Clinical Coordinator
is responsible for the oversight and administration of clinical rotations for
third- and fourth-year medical students, under the direction of the Director
and Assistant Director of Clinical Education, including a wide range of related
administrative duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following outlines
the basic responsibilities of this position. Other duties may be assigned as
necessary.
BROAD RESPONSIBILITIES
The Clinical Coordinator
is responsible for the organizing and execution of the clinical rotations at
Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handle general questions from students via phone, email, electronic communication and walk-in
- Understand and be proficient in digital platforms used for clerkship assignments and help students navigate them
- Be vigilant in student record keeping and organization of materials to meet the COCA standards
- Communicate with students about their scheduled rotations, evaluation completion, site change/re-assignment, and credentialing process
- Work with students to complete all required elements for out of state rotation requests, schedule changes, and facilitate elective rotation application processes
- Communicate with Preceptors about schedule availability, student placements, evaluation distribution, and compensation
- Work with Community Partners for student site credentialing
- Assist the Health Center Manager with required documents and communication with students regarding their accounts
- Collaborate with the Office of the Registrar for student schedule submissions and other student document requests
- Coordinate with and assist other Clinical Affairs staff and faculty as needed
- Assist Clinical Education faculty in scheduling, preparing, and advertising adjunct faculty training and development programs
- Support Clinical Education faculty in clinical site visits, including schedule coordination with faculty and sites
- Support the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education with third- and fourth-year student clinical activities
- Schedule student meetings with Clinical Education Administrative Team to address student performance concerns
- Attend Clinical Education Committee meetings
- Contribute to Noorda’s culture by supporting campus-wide events and activities
- Be an active participant in assigned committees
QUALIFICATIONS
- Five years’ experience in administrative work, preferably in a medical environment.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR RELATED EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED as a minimum, bachelor’s degree preferred; healthcare experience is a plus
SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
- Capability to work daily in a team environment
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Calendar Program)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
