What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Trainer - 2nd Shift position at NORD Gear Corporation?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Train and support shop floor employees with an initial emphasis on the employees that have been with NORD for 6 months or less
- Conduct new hire onboarding group training as necessary
- Job training, product training and cross department training with every shop employee
- The go to person for any questions or concerns that a shop employee may have
- Read, write and use job instructions to train shop employees
- Ensure that NORD safety procedures are being followed on the shop floor
- Drive improvement through job shadowing of the shop floor processes and execution of NORDPro principles
- Work with the leads and supervisors in the shop to ensure that job instructions are updated as needed
- Work closely with the Production Training Specialist, leads, and supervisors to ensure that new NORD employees are getting the attention and training they require
- Assist in scheduling, coordinating and tracking shop employees as they go through the training programs
- Responsible for ensuring that all training programs are being tracked by the necessary supervisors
- An advocate for the shop employees while embodying the NORD culture
- Majority of time will be spent on the shop floor
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Post High School Degree preferred..
2. Experience:
Experience with NORD production processes and products. Prefer someone at NORD with experience in multiple production departments. Proven professional interpersonal skills.
3. Skills and Key Attributes:
Ability to learn and become a subject matter expert for NORD. Must be approachable, positive, and exude NORD culture and mission. Excellent people skills. Ability to identify root causes of issues and propose ideas for solutions. Exceptional organizational skills with an ability to multi task. Proven ability to train and present training material using job instructions. Must have working knowledge of NORD's production processes. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Basic PowerPoint, Excel, and Word abilities preferred.
4. Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and work in a shop floor environment.
Salary : $32,300 - $40,900
