What are the responsibilities and job description for the Location Manager position at Norder Supply?
Salary:
Role Purpose
To efficiently run the daily agronomy operations of the location. This will include custom application, inventory, and personnel management. Will also be expected to complete all other duties as assigned by the supervisor while displaying Norder Supply’s core values and to fulfill our purpose of assisting our customers in achieving maximum net return per acre.
Accountabilities
General Management
- Assist salesmen and applicators in achieving objectives
- Implement company policies and procedures and operate within budget guidelines
- Promote professionalism and encourage teamwork
- Communicate regularly with management concerning location and company objectives
- Responsible for searching out new employees and the interview process associated
Custom Application
- Work with other locations sharing equipment and personal to maximize efficiency during custom application and other seasonal activities like harvest, seed treating, etc.
- Schedule time of application, make maps, check field and weather conditions
- Potential part-time tending to aid custom applicators
DOT Requirements
- Maintain all log books, time sheets, CDL license, medical cards and other DOT requirements
- Maintain vehicle and delivery equipment to DOT standards
- Notify supervisor of any repairs needed to maintain equipment
Facility Operations
- Operate fork lifts, scales, pumps and all other equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Load/unload deliveries/shipments
- Manage bulk and package chemicals, dry and liquid fertilizer and bulk seed treatment equipment
- Keep acceptable quantities of site-specific inventory on hand
- Deliver products to other locations and customers
- Use teamwork in deliveries (check with other staff to see if deliveries can be combined)
Shared Accountabilities
- Maintain all aspects of equipment and facilities so that they are in excellent working condition for their respective seasons. Such equipment may include but is not limited to: nurse trailers, dry fertilizer equipment, bulk chemical and fertilizer facilities, tending and application equipment, warehouse, office grounds, vehicles and all other equipment
Critical Knowledge
- Knowledge of application equipment, precision placement equipment and application procedures of products. Possess a general mechanical knowledge
- General knowledge of sales and management skills
