What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ski School Supervisor position at Nordic Valley?
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- The Ski & Snowboard School Supervisor will handle all aspects of lesson activities while providing a safe, fun and professional learning and working environment.
- Supervise staff and lesson activity on a daily basis. Responsible for training, scheduling and assigning work. Handle general line-up, operations and on-snow tasks. Monitor lesson groups to ensure quality and safety.
- Resolve concerns and problems to the satisfaction of the guest while protecting the Resort’s interest. Encourage and model the School’s standards and initiatives.
- Complete daily reports and payroll.
- Dress in appropriate uniform, maintaining resort dress standards and suitable appearance.
- Teach lessons and other duties as required.
- Wear a Helmet when on the snow.
- Other assigned duties.
Job Qualifications: Minimum of Three (3) years ski or snowboard teaching experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent teaching, supervisory, management, organizational, and communication skills.
Alertness, precision, problem-solving, persuasiveness, auditory, tactile, olfactory and visual discrimination, speaking, writing and reading ability, memory, creativity, reasoning, imagination, initiative, judgment, common sense and patience are necessary abilities
Working Environment/ Physical Activities:
20% of the workday is spent indoors: 80% of the work day is spent outdoors in constantly changing weather conditions, including snow, extreme cold and wet in winter.
