Industrial Manufacturing Engineer Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY:
Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in manufacturing plant.
Plans utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations.
Studies and records time, motion, methods, and speed involve in performance of maintenance, production, and other worker operations, to establish standard production rate and to improve efficiency.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Ensure all employees are working safely and working in a safe environment.
Train and encourage employees to exercise safe work practices.
Ensure all employees are working within Norma St Clair’s policies and procedures.
Maximize and maintain plant through-put using NBS tools.
Leads customer projects with tooling and equipment launch.
Test ability of machines to perform tasks using precision measuring instruments and following specifications.
Confers with establishment personnel to implement operation procedures and resolve system malfunctions.
Develops models of alternate processing methods to test feasibility of new applications of system components and recommends implementations of the improved procedures.
Develops and conducts equipment training programs and demonstrates skills to trainees, using precision-measuring instruments, and following schematics, plant drawings, and manufacturer’s specification.
Attends and participates weekly project APQP meetings.
Develops and writes all instruction manuals for equipment and processes.
Develops all support documentation for processes, such as Process flow diagrams, Process FMEA, and Control Plans.
Assigns project and part numbers
Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
Prepares charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
Observes workers operating equipment or performing tasks to determine time involved and fatigue rate, using stopwatch, motion-picture camera, and similar equipment.
Recommends revision of methods of operation or material handling, alterations, in equipment layout, or other changes to increase production or improve standards.
Coordinates the development of equipment specification requirements, cost analysis, and proposals for integrating machinery and equipment.
Test ability of machines to perform tasks required.
Knowledge of BOS Business Operating System Standard

Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new development in field.
Studies functional statements, organizational charts, and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers and work units and to identify areas of duplications.
Estimates production times, staffing requirements and relates costs to provide information for management decisions.
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Identifies and appraises conditions which could produce accidents and financial losses and evaluates potential extent of injuries resulting form accidents.
Evaluates technical and scientific publications concerned with safety management and participates in activities of related professional organizations to update knowledge of safety developments.
Support implementation of all Continuous Improvement projects.
Reduction of scrap.
