Overview
We have operating rooms located at the Porter campus and the Health Plex campus. The Porter campus has 10 operating rooms with services ranging from urology, general, neurology, and bariatrics. The Health Plex campus has 6 operating rooms in the main OR with services of orthopedics, general, and ENT, 1 hybrid room for cardiac cases, and 3 operating rooms for GYN and Robotic cases. Our nurses demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, autonomy, and critical thinking skills. We orient new nurses to all of our surgical areas by providing a 16 week orientation with a dedicated preceptor in which nurses learn how to circulate cases in all of our service lines. Responsibilities
- Organizes and prepares the operating room for surgery.
- Identifies and pulls instruments/supplies for specific surgical cases.
- Checks, sets up, and directs periop assistants to set up specialized equipment for procedures.
- Obtains and sets up supplies specific for procedure.
- Performs specialized cleaning.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- High school education or the equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in a health care field preferred.
(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for the duration of the employment.
COMPENSATION / BENEFITS
- $10.44-$17.05/hr depending on previous work experience, plus shift and weekend differentials.
