What you will do:

Introduce new products into manufacturing and service.  Determines engineering and design requirements; resolves engineering problems; verifies and maintains project timelines; meets cost standards; evaluates manufacturing systems applications; confirms systems and components capabilities; develops manufacturing processes and standards; assures product quality; prepares technical product reports.  May develops manufacturing methods, systems and processes to produce a high-quality product at optimal cost for new product introduction.

  • Verifies that all materials, documents, plans and procedures are correct to launch New Product Introduction (NPI) documentation (i.e. schematics, bills of material, prints).
  • Provides inputs and direction for bidding process (i.e. labor estimates).
  • Assists and provides input with business development strategies to enable product line growth.
  • Responsible for following all ISO quality systems and procedures and initiates new and/or updates for appropriate documentation.
  • Ensures compliance for all ISO quality systems and procedures.
  • Develops and implements manufacturing processes and/or documentation (training, specifications) for new product introduction.
  • Ability and aptitude to design fully functioning products and lead the partnering with key internal and/or external customers, contractors and/or development firms on the design process.
  • Conducts Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/A) exercises to improve product design and manufacturability.
  • Responsible for full product development, including mechanical and manufacturing, using necessary support staff.
  • Indirect supervisory responsibilities of support staff and outside design contractors, as required.
  • Initiates, facilitates and implements Engineering Change Orders (ECO's).
  • Provides engineering support to manufacturing operation during product's NPI phase.  May generate and perform qualification/validation plans and reports, and install/test new equipment.
  • Collaborates with internal and external customers to resolve issues that arise during NPI phase.



What you will bring to Nortech:

Bachelor's degree (BS) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
