GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
The position is responsible for the monitoring, auditing, analysis, and
control of steel inventory, housekeeping and waste management throughout
the Cold Mill.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
This position is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and manifesting of non-hazardous, hazardous, and universal waste as needed in the Cold Mill. This position shall also coordinate and oversee operational aspects of physical inventory counts for the Cold Mill. This position shall also have responsibilities as assigned for recycling in the Cold Mill. This position shall identify inefficient processes of physical inventory and recommend changes with the objective of optimizing these processes. Operation of the Inventory Control/Housekeeping/Environmental Coordinator must be understood in total, with the focus of utilizing the available resources to meet all quality and productivity goals as outlined in our quality system. All work instructions must be followed as outlined. Conduct parking support audits of all park zones to ensure proper parking positions of existing material.
- Document and re-park all mis-parked material found during parking audits.
- Identify and communicate all scrap material found during parking audits to the scrape coordinator.
- Document, isolate, and resolve all mismarked material found during parking audits.
- Review and problem solve all Retention "M" material. Authorized to release said material and entry of informational AQNS.
- Initiate requests for corrective actions for parking and/or marking issues within Operations department.
Coordinate and collaborate with the Quality and Planning Departments in order to resolve specific quality issues that are identified through aforementioned audits (i.e. mismarked material, material that needs to be reprogrammed, etc.)
Assist Scrap Section personnel in locating and identifying scrap material found during physical inventory or parking audits. This material will typically consist of discontinued Whole Coil and scrap from customer claims. |
Implement work instructions for all aspects of inventory control physical inventory counts, housekeeping, waste management, and recyclin| in the Cold Mill as applies to this position. This task is to be performed following direction of the coordinator's Supervisor.
Coordinate and collaborate with the Technical Department, Technical, IS, Operations, and Accounting Department in regards to plant-wide inventories counts.
Coordinate and collaborate with the Environmental Department,
Accounting and Scrap area in regards to the manifesting, and disposal of all non-hazardous,
hazardous, recycling, and universal wastes. (ex: used oil, used absorbents, spent aerosol cans, etc.)
This shall include the reporting and tracking of these activities.
Run, edit and create queries (reports) in AS400 as required for assigned responsibilities.
Tracking and reporting for all activities.
Operate per work instructions concerning all Health, Safety and Environmental rules and
regulations.
Performs other jobs as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED Equivalence.
Knowledge of AS400 application and moderate speed on the keyboard
preferred.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Mobility in plant.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
- The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Visual ability with or without correction.
- Communication abilities.
