The Organization
North Los Angeles County Regional Center “NLACRC” is a private, non-profit agency that is contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. NLACRC is one of the largest regional centers in California and has proudly served the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley since 1974. We serve individuals across the lifespan from infants and toddlers, school age children, transition-age youth, to adults and aging adults.
SCOPE
Under minimal supervision, performs more difficult or complex clerical work, and may provide support to an assigned department(s) or an office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Organizes and performs more difficult or complex administrative and clerical tasks in support of department(s) or an office.
• Maintains a variety of case and department records, including work files, computer databases, activity logs. Compiles and prepares reports from materials and information extracted from other sources.
• Composes correspondence and communicates with others.
• Organizes work by reading and routing correspondence; collecting information; initiating telecommunications.
• Maintains department calendars for department staff; arranging meetings, conferences, and teleconferences.
• Schedules appointments with consumers, related parties or internal Regional Center staff.
• Completes requests by greeting consumers or related parties in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries as appropriates to other staff members.
• Prepares reports by collecting and collating information. Set ups and maintains filing systems.
• Maintains office supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies;
• Coordinates the flow of information both internally and externally. Liaises with consumers and others to provide them the information requested.
• Performs a variety of clerical and support tasks to include; typing, filing, copying, scanning, preparing, and obtaining case materials.
• Performs data entry by entering and updating consumer and other information in Regional Center computer systems.
• Participates in meetings and training sessions as requested.
• Provides reception coverage on an as needed or periodic basis.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Three (3) years’ experience working in an office environment or related experience.
KNOWLEDGE and/or SKILLS
• Microsoft Office and related applications
• Accurate and rapid (40 words per minute) typing for input of data.

Compensation
This position is non-exempt. Regular Salary: $22.45 - $24.78 per hour.
