North Central Human Service Center - Minot, ND - Direct Care Associate, PRN
This is a temporary position.
Be part of the solution to the behavioral health crisis. As a team member for ND Department of Health & Human Services, you will ensure the most vulnerable have access to a high-quality healthcare system in which prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover.
As a Direct Care Associate working with adults in a residential setting, you will provide positive mentoring and guidance to individuals impacted by behavioral health disorders. You will serve as a role model, exhibiting a positive and respectful approach in all interactions. You will teach daily living activities, including household tasks, hygiene task, effective communication, and socialization with the goal of helping those you serve increase their independence.
An important part of this position is assisting the individuals articulate their goals and what is important for them. You will teach self-advocacy and self-help strategies to assist them in reaching their goals.
You will thrive in this position if you have a passion for teaching individuals life skills and how to overcome barriers that may be present in their lives.
To be considered, you must have a high school diploma or GED; and two years of work experience providing direct care to special populations.
- If unable to find candidate with preferred experience, will consider filling this position as a Direct Care Associate II, which requires a high school diploma or GED; and one year of work experience providing direct care to special populations.
- If unable to find candidate with preferred experience, will consider filling this position as a Direct Care Associate I, which requires a high school diploma or GED.
All DCAs must hold a valid driver’s license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.
