PT Student Ambassadors
Campus Location: Virtual/Lynn/Danvers
Work Schedule: 10-15 hours a week during Summer, 4-8 hours a week during Fall & Spring

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Student Ambassadors serve as a key information source for incoming and current students to North Shore Community College. As part of a team, each Student Ambassador will present information on a variety of topics at live/virtual events and assist students in attendance with their questions/concerns about their upcoming/current experience at NSCC. Student Ambassadors will participate in training activities on a variety of topics such as: campus services, presentation styles, student on-boarding best practices, how to engage in a variety of environments and more. The Student Ambassador Team will also take turns attending registration related activities to provide event logistical support. The Student Ambassador Team will consist of 8-10 Student Ambassadors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a resource for current and prospective students.
- Host on-campus visits and give campus tours at the Danvers and/or Lynn Campus.
- Develop and facilitate presentations at New Student Orientation events.
- Call and text new and prospective students to invite them for campus visits and answer questions about attending NSCC.
- Facilitate and assist with registration and graduation.
- Assist with NSCC Foundation and Community Relations events and functions.
- Attend student ambassador training sessions and meetings.
- Work with various campus departments as needed.
- Attend ambassador orientation.
- Serve a year-long commitment- Fall, Spring & Summer Semesters.
Requirements:
- Be enthusiastic, driven, creative, and friendly.
- Possess excellent written, interpersonal, and group communication skills.
- Positively represent the college.
- Be sensitive to the needs of current and prospective students.
- Work well with in a team environment
- Commit to 4-8 hours of work each week between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday, during the fall and spring semesters (occasional weekend/evening hours also required); summer months would increase this to 10-15 hours per week as assigned by the Sr. Special Programs Coordinator in Admissions and Enrollment and/or the Admissions Hispanic Outreach Coordinator.
- Enroll in a minimum of 6 credit hours in both the Fall and Spring semester.
- Have an unweighted 2.5 grade point average from their most recent institution (high school, transferring from another college, etc.).
- Maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA at NSCC.
- Must be in good disciplinary standing with the College.
- Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a National background check as a condition of employment.
COVID VACCINATION REQUIREMENT:
Candidates for employment should be aware that all North Shore Community College students, faculty and staff are required to be fully vaccinated by January, 2022. Accordingly, initial employment is dependent upon receipt and verification of full vaccination status records; details of how to fulfill vaccine record verification requirements will be provided during the hire and onboarding process.
Additional Information:
SALARY: $16.00 per hour, non-benefited position.
