Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists in providing medication and healthcare services to patients. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical care.
- Duties:
- Prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Perform medication inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medication profiles and insurance information
- Assist in the compounding of medications, following aseptic technique and safety protocols
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring patient satisfaction
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate medication administration and patient care
- Utilize medical terminology and knowledge of drug interactions to identify potential risks or concerns
- Adhere to all regulatory guidelines and standards in the handling and storage of medications
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote efficiency and safety
Qualifications:
- - High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred
- Active certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, drug names, dosage forms, and pharmaceutical calculations
- Familiarity with pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and record keeping
- Effective communication skills to interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and colleagues
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism
- Prior experience in an acute care or hospital setting is preferred
