About the Opportunity Position Summary: As the direction of the Director/Head Coach, the Associate Head Coach of Field Hockey is responsible for teaching and instructing the student-athletes. Responsibilities include running aspects of the practices, assisting in making strategic decisions in competition situations, and assisting and participating in all aspects of teaching the students the elements of the sport. Supporting the program as needed during the Cross Country season and adequately complete assigned administrative duties, the Associated Head Coach of Field Hockey will conduct all applicable operations in a manner that upholds the philosophy and objectives of the University and Athletics Department in accordance with the NCAA, CAA, ECAC and IC4A rules. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required as well as 4-6 years of intercollegiate varsity and/or professional coaching experience or other related experience. Must have sport-specific technical and tactical knowledge. Good understanding and commitment to the mission of Northeastern and the role that athletics plays within the University. Proficiency in Excel and Word, internet and email capabilities. Job Duties: Actively assist in the recruiting, coaching, teaching, instructing and skill development for the assigned event group. Assist in the academic and athletic development of the student athletes. Assist in the maintenance of accurate database of recruiting, results, records and season top performances. Assist in the administration of NCAA paperwork. Demonstrate appropriate knowledge and understanding of and follow all applicable NCAA, Conference and University rules. Display professionalism, good judgment and support of the department mission, core values and goals. Serve as an effective role model for the student-athletes.
