Summary:
Responsible for processing Physician and Allied Health appointments and reappointments, Assists with CMS survey preparation for the Medical Staff/Leadership function. Works with the Medical Staff Coordinator, Medical Staff Department Chief’s, and Hospital Administration regarding medical staff appointments.
Responsibilities :
- Processes and analyzes all initial and reappointment applications of Medical Staff and Allied Health Staff in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, CMS standards and State and Federal laws.
- Develops and maintains good working relationships with office managers, affiliate credentialing personnel, and contracted services to ensure thorough documentation of credentials applications.
- Responsible for gathering provider quality review data from various internal and external sources for appointment and reappointment applications.
- Assists the Medical Staff President and Department Chief’s by preparing complete Credentials applications for their review.
- Prepares approval letters for President’s signature and distributes appointment, reappointment and change letters to appropriate medical staff.
- Assists in preparing agendas and packet materials for Medical Staff Committee meetings. May perform other duties as assigned by the Medical Staff Coordinator.
- Enters and maintains current and confidential information for each provider application in the Echo provider database in a timely manner.
- Data entry to Echo provider database following Board approval of appointments, reappointments, and changes.
- Assesses priorities daily to ensure urgent needs are addressed.
- Maintains working knowledge of the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and related policies to ensure compliance.
- Responds to credentialing related call and emails.
- Tracking of required certifications for privileges and communicating with practitioners for updates as necessary.
- Assist with practitioners CME travel, reimbursements and tracking their allotted funds annually.
- Assist Senior Physician Executive with meeting preparation, data inquiries, and other assigned duties.

- No previous experience required. Preferred experience in credentialing and/or privileging or related work.

Working Conditions
Salary : $36,700 - $46,400
