Summary :
The Supervisor of Clinical Services is responsible for supervision of daily clinical care provided to the organization's clients and for oversight, supervision and mentoring of a multidisciplinary team of field clinicians. The Supervisor of Clinical Services is accountable for staff productivity, quality outcomes, client satisfaction and clinical practice standards delivery. The Supervisor of Clinical Services develops and maintains a culture of team accountability using a high degree of field supervision. As a member of the Management team the incumbent is responsible for organizational performance improvement activities and education/orientation activities. The incumbent acts as Manager On Call on a rotating basis. Performance reflects the mission and values of Home Care and Hospice.
Responsibilities:
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of nursing1. Team Supervision Oversees delivery of clinical services and assures operational performance of the team. • Actively participates in developing, maintaining and creating an organization united by a commitment to the Mission and Values of VNA characterized by open, honest communications and respect for the dignity of the person. • Carries on the mission of VNA; ensures that mission-based considerations guide the use of human, financial and material resources and shape plans for future services to those served. • Participates in developing and maintaining processes to ensure that VNA’s values are visibly reflected in all aspects of organizational life. • Actively works to develop staff to ensure leadership development and continuity. • Collaborates with other members of the management team to implement staff orientation and development programs to ensure competency. • Provides input into the creation of educational programs based on organizational needs. • Develops and implements strategies to develop and maintain competency of team members. • Provides clinical supervision to designated direct service staff by mentoring, guiding, educating, counseling, and collaborating with peers and staff. • Is accountable for ensuring that clinical care provided by staff meets or exceeds national and state standards of care. • Participates in hiring staff and performance management within the department. • Functions in a clinical capacity (within the scope of professional license) in support of agency operations. 2. Quality Promotes and maintains an environment that fosters compliance with all accreditation, regulatory, certification requirements and organizational policies and procedures. • Establishes and implements priorities of service provision. • Attends and participates in IDT meetings. • Assures team member attendance at IDT, engagement in critical thinking and follow through with authorized plan of care. • Mentors field staff by modeling a process which engages the client's understanding of their role within a home health plan of care. • Holds team accountable for achieving stated expectations, assists w/ care planning, provides joint visits w/ staff in the field, and assures quality client services. • Reviews and signs off on the client's POC. • Supervises clinical staff in the field regarding OASIS competency. • • Ensures clinical services are congruent with organizational performance improvement goals by collaborating with management in the planning, promoting and implementation of quality improvement plans for the organization. • Provides leadership to interdisciplinary staff work groups as indicated/requested. • Participates in the development of effective program policies and procedures for delivery of safe, quality home and community care services that are in compliance with regulatory and credentialing standards and criteria. • Evaluates staff job performance in compliance with established policy and procedures. • In consultation with Manager and/or Director, initiates performance management activities with employees if indicated. 3. Community Outreach Participates in development, marketing, and outreach to promote Agency services. • Participates in marketing efforts. • Promotes a positive agency image in the community. • Works collaboratively with EMHS affiliates to provide complimentary programs across the continuum. • Represents the Agency on EMHS committees and workgroups as directed. • Participates in varied community-based advisory panels, councils, or coalitions as a VNA representative. 4. Performs additional duties as required or assigned.
Other Information :
Current license to drive in the state of Maine, with reliable transportation and agency required auto liability insurance. Must be able to travel within assigned region, or statewide, depending on the position.
