Computer Repair Technician

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Computer Repair Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing consumer equipment in-person at our office, remotely (via phone, chat, etc.), and occasionally at customer locations. You should have a strong understanding of computer systems, hardware, and software, and be able to quickly adapt to new technologies and repair procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and resolve issues with computers, phones, tablets, other electronics, software, and peripherals.
• Perform hardware and software updates and upgrades for customers.
• Document procedures and outcomes of completed work.
• Manage trouble tickets and maintain accurate records.
• Source and order replacement parts as needed.
• Provide training and support to customers for computer-related issues.
• Assist customers with purchasing decisions by applying technical knowledge.
• Troubleshoot and assist with Internet Service related tasks.
• Manage inventory and stock for repair and sales.
• Perform common office tasks as needed.

Skills:

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with all popular modern operating systems.
• Skilled in building and assembling computer systems.
• Technical proficiency with the ability to convey knowledge effectively to others.
• Strong time management and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and pivot between tasks as necessary.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proficiency with tools such as screwdrivers, prying tools, knives, and heat guns.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of relevant work experience or an associate degree in computer science, information systems, or a related technical field.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A are advantageous but not required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week
