Northrop Grumman, located in Promontory, UT, is currently recruiting for a Facilities Engineering Designer.
Job Description:
Candidate will be responsible for the concept and layout of construction per Facility Engineer’s requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Working knowledge of AutoCAD to prepare working and other construction drawings related to piping, P&IDs, HVAC, electrical, architectural, structural, and civil drafting.
Work under the direction of a project manager and project engineers/designers to develop accurate AutoCAD / REVIT models and clear, concise, accurate, coordinated and timely construction documents.
Develop coordinated, clash-free model. This requires the ability to read structural and electrical drawings and route ductwork and piping in a manner that does not conflict with lighting, ceilings and building structural members.
Create accurate and appropriate drawing views of mechanical parts and assemblies.
Create proper annotation and dimensioning in drawings and models.
Capable of reading and understanding blueprints from outside engineering firms and vendors.
Interface with review team to assure customer satisfaction with design.
Ensure construction documents accuracy and clarity, including checking for drawing completeness before issuing and follow up to ensure that drawings were received and are satisfactory.
Work closely with Facility Engineers to create final drawings.
Review engineering drawings and designs for accuracy, manufacturability and constructability.
Support continuous improvement.
Support Operations and Process Engineering in the use of all facilities and equipment.
Desire and passion, to generate complete and accurate drawings to support the manufacture of flight hardware.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills in managing time, projects and resources.
Leadership ability.
Technical attention to detail.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Design with 5 years of experience or Associates Degree with 7 years of experience or 10 years relevant experience
Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, Navisworks, Microsoft Office and Acrobat.
Experience in Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor is desired but not required.
