Schedule: 8:00-4:00 M-F, 430-630 T/Th (optional); no nights, no weekends

Job Title: Line Technician

Purpose and Scope: Provide behavior analytic services to children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders in the clinic, home, school and/or community under the direct supervision of a BCBA. Create materials necessary for meeting progress goals and objectives. Collect ongoing data. Perform daily tasks related to maintenance of the facility.

Training: Duration of training is 1-2 weeks, Training bonus with first paycheck

Advancement: Performance-based pay increases, frequent merit-based financial rewards, lead technician, activities coordinator, Senior Line Technician positions as available

Minimum Educational Requirements: High School Diploma/GED

Preferred Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, special education, early childhood education, or ABA.

Required Certification: CPR, First Aid, Mandated Reporter, Registered with LBAB

Registration with LBAB requires a criminal background check. The cost of registration with the board and background check is a total of 150-$200$. NAC will pay up front, if necessary, for registration fees to be deducted from your first paycheck. NAC will pay for subsequent annual registrations.

Minimum Field of Experience: Six months to one year of experience working with children.

Preferred Experience: A minimum of one year, working with children diagnosed with Autism in an in-home, clinical or school-based ABA program. Registered Behavior TechnicianÔ

Mental Demands:

  • Must have the ability to respond effectively to varied demands of clients, families, other line technicians and BCBAs. Can multi-task and take descriptive and accurate data, documentation and records.
  • Must be able to make quick, intelligent decisions.
  • Respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Problem solving skills, as well as respond to parents, clinical staff, school staff, and agencies affiliated with ABA service providers in a proactive and professional manner.
  • Ability to form coherent, concise and descriptive narrative session notes.

Physical Demands:May require some lifting, bending, reaching, and running. Ability to implement crisis intervention techniques. Physical ability, energy and stamina involved to effectively engage with children. Awareness and acceptance of the risks and potential dangers of working with children with challenging behaviors (e.g., aggressive behaviors toward staff such as biting, punching, scratching, head-butting, kicking) as well as health risks associated with sustaining injuries as a result of these behaviors.
