PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE: To provide prompt exceptional personal service to each customer assisting them in all of their banking needs accurately and efficiently while promoting the bank and all of its services.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Greets bank visitors and customers in a timely professional manner representing a standard of exceptional personal service.

As primary telephone answerer, routes callers to the appropriate party in a timely professional manner. Responds to general banking inquiries including balance inquires, CD rate inquires, Internet Banking questions, IRA’s etc.

Answers the telephone in timely professional manner by the second ring.

Possesses a working knowledge of bank products, services and procedures.

Assists customers in opening new accounts ensuring accuracy to avoid potential losses and customer inconvenience.

Closes out existing accounts ensuring accuracy to avoid potential losses.

Cross-sells products and services that will benefit the customer as well as the bank and takes the time to educate the customer on products and services available.

Assists customers with safe deposit box transactions, allowing customers entry to boxes or accepting rental payments, maintaining strict regulatory guidelines.

Researches customer information and balance requests for customers or authorized outside sources ensuring confidentiality and security according to bank procedure and responds in a timely manner.

Possesses knowledge of the entire teller operation and as scheduled, completes assigned rotational tasks, provides additional back up support as needed, participates in Saturday rotation.

Provides assistance and support to officers as needed.

Performs miscellaneous record updating, scanning, filing and copying as needed.

Performs all other miscellaneous duties as assigned or needed.

Ability to initiate contact with and strengthen the bank’s relationship with existing customers, rather than waiting for customers to approach the Bank as well as encourage prospective customers to bring their banking relationship to Northview Bank by showing the value the bank can offer them.

Achieves the level of knowledge of bank products and services required to answer and resolve routine daily customer questions in an effective manner while maintaining exceptional personal service.

Ability to fill in at other branch locations as needed.

Achieves job performance goals set at prior review.

Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimum error and within established deadlines.

Ability to ensure confidentiality, security, and safekeeping of all account and customer information and records.

Ability to accommodate job interruptions courteously while not allowing interruptions to adversely affect the work in progress.

Ability to maintain a positive, friendly greeting and response through the business day, and always alert to any unusual activity in the bank.

Willing to perform various special projects as assigned.

Ability to work proficiently with little supervision, a self-starter.

Ability to operate all equipment essential for daily banking operations and perform some of the basic maintenance as needed.

Ability to listen to and help resolve customer complaints.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience/Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent. 6 months of CSR/Teller experience preferred. Operates PC and standard office equipment. Working knowledge of Windows based software. Excellent communication & organizational skills.

Physical & Mental Requirements: The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time while performing the account opening functions or required to stand for extended periods while providing customer service at the teller counter. Also required are the use of the hands, arms and fingers in posting the daily transactions on the computer and imaging them. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 to 40 pounds. The employee must be able to reach and retrieve objects outside of immediate range, stand or support oneself and stay in an upright position, raise substantial objects from lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. Specific vision abilities are also required including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth vision. The employee must also be able to hear the normal range of sounds and express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word. The employee must maintain a physical presence at the bank during scheduled work hours. The employee may be required to drive to other bank office locations as needed.

Work Environment: Environment generally good, with little discomfort from noise, heat, dust, or other factors. Moderate degree of pressure to work efficiently and accurately to meet daily time deadlines and maintain exceptional customer service. Could be exposed to a potentially hazardous condition, i.e., robbery.
