Responsibilities
Responsible for treating clients through soft tissue manipulation while maintaining a safe and relaxing experience. Must display good at perceiving client wishes and needs through spoken language, body language and other cues and modifying their treatments accordingly.
Essential Functions:
Utilizes soft or deep tissue massage or other therapeutic massage methods to provide pain relief and promote healing
Guide clients through service offerings and determine which massages would benefit them most
Take a detailed client history and note any health conditions
Evaluate clients to determine painful or stressed areas of the body
Advise relaxation methods
Suggest future massage appointments and regime to clients
Listen to clients during appointments and adjust technique as they desire
Execute all other duties as assigned
Non-Essential Functions:
Scheduling patient appointments
Preparing/cleaning treatment room
Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees and outside contacts.
Maintain and continue to develop key physician relationships.
Participate in professional development, educational activities and attend staff meetings.
Qualifications
Qualifications/Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent
Active Massage therapy certification
Strong interpersonal skills
Electronic Health Records (EHR) software
Strong customer and personal service perspective
Strong judgement and decision-making skills
Basic understanding of psychology, therapy and counseling
Excellent active listening and critical thinking skills with a service orientation
