A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A ROOM ATTENDANT / HOUSEKEEPER
As a Room Attendant / Hotel Housekeeper at our hotel, you arrive each day ready to get to work and do your part in ensuring that our guests are always greeted by a clean, stocked, and orderly home away from home. You are fast and efficient, but also attentive to detail. You never cut corners and clean as if you were going to stay there yourself. You dust and disinfect surfaces, vacuum, mop, and change linens. Since the condition of their room is one of the top things that guests address in hotel reviews, you play a critical role in our success!
You observe the status of and maintain common areas, including floor closets, stairwells, halls, lobby areas, and elevators. You also do any additional deep cleaning as scheduled. You properly handle lost and found items in accordance with department policies and security procedures. Our guests appreciate your warm greetings and responses to special requests. Using your excellent customer service skills, you respond to our guests' concerns, complaints, or suggestions and refer them to management when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A ROOM ATTENDANT / HOUSEKEEPER
- At least 18 years old
- Ability to lift bundles of linen weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to push and pull wheeled carts weighing up to 150 lbs
- Physically able to stoop, bend, stretch, lift, and be on your feet as needed for general janitorial and housekeeping tasks
- Ability to listen effectively and to speak English clearly to communicate with customers and team members
- Working knowledge of the use of laundry chemicals and different formulas, as well as effects on various types of linen
Being bilingual or multilingual is a plus, but not required. Are you a hardworking get-it-done type of person who enjoys working independently? WORK SCHEDULE
This housekeeping position offers flexible shifts which are likely to include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
