We are currently looking for a Plant Operations Manager for our Dallas, Texas operations to direct and coordinate all production activities in the plant to achieve production goals and deadlines!
Summary: The Plant Operations manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the plant, including day to day production, maintenance, training, quality control, assembly, receiving and shipping, engineering, material sourcing and safety. Other tasks performed include working with supervisors and staff on the plant floor to directly oversee productivity, efficiency, and quality; troubleshoot and determine areas for potential improvement; tracking plant maintenance, monitoring costs and expenses, ensuring quality standards are met and realigning goals based on customer needs. Additionally, the Plant Operations Manager must ensure employees know and follow all safety policies and any other relevant plant rules. Will provide relocation to the Dallas, Texas Area
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day manufacturing and processes of the plant including planning and organizing workloads and staff assignments, reviewing progress, directing changes in priorities, assisting supervisors in overseeing all activities
- Oversee and manage manufacturing engineers.
- Analyze data to pinpoint weaknesses in manufacturing and compile data reports.
- Identify problems with manufacturing process and recommend improvements for optimum productivity.
- Enforce all state and federal regulations regarding plant operation and employee safety.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field and 10 or more years in management in a manufacturing environment (preferably in an educational or office furniture manufacturing) or a combination of education/relevant experience; experience in a Non Union environment also preferred.
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to effectively provide guidance, support, training, and discipline as necessary; 'hands-on' style and presence on shop floor a must.
- Must be able to effectively communicate goals and progress and implement ways to identify and celebrate positive results and behaviors while also holding staff accountable for shortfalls in a respectful, consistent, and effective manner.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all internal/external stakeholders, customers, regulatory officials, etc. and collaborate and work effectively across all areas of the business including sales, shipping, safety, finance, etc. to achieve common goals in a constructive and positive manner.
- Experience with P&L and ability to budget the plant’s needs correctly and have a strong understanding of accounting practices and money management.
- Must have a strong experience level in Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
- Experience in wood CNC equipment and a thorough knowledge of best practice equipment.
- Overtime and/or alternative hours may be required depending on their plant's needs. Additionally, must be able and willing to be on call for any plant emergencies that arise.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
