What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Operations Engineer position at Notion?
About Us:
We're on a mission to make it possible for every person, team, and company to be able to tailor their software to solve any problem and take on any challenge. Computers may be our most powerful tools, but most of us can't build or modify the software we use on them every day. At Notion, we want to change this with focus, design, and craft.
We've been working on this together since 2016, and have customers like Pixar, Mitsubishi, Figma, Plaid, Match Group, and thousands more on this journey with us. Today, we're growing fast and excited for new teammates to join us who are the best at what they do. We're passionate about building a company as diverse and creative as the millions of people Notion reaches worldwide.
About The Role:
Notion is looking for our first IT Operations Engineer! We are growing and we're looking to bring on a resourceful, security-focused, and people-centered IT Operations Engineer that can help us continue scaling and establish best-in-class support for our end users. This individual will help us automate as much as possible, and have a meaningful impact on our day-to-day IT operations.
What You'll Achieve:
- Drive our day to day IT tasks and continue to build efficiency and scalability in our processes
- Act as a stakeholder for end user education through self help mechanisms including self help articles and user guides
- Assist in employee lifecycle management including asset management, account provisioning and other processes
- Maintain and manage inventory of hardware (computers, monitors, printers) and accessories
Skills You'll Need to Bring:
- 4 years experience as an IT Operations engineer or similar experience
- A high degree of confidence troubleshooting hardware or software in a predominately macOS environment
- Experience in administrating Google Workspace, Zoom, Okta, Slack, and other SaaS applications
- Clear and direct communication, both verbal and written
- Ability to create IT documentation for technical and non-technical users alike
- Create and support an autonomous IT support function for in-office and remote employees in a startup environment
Nice to Haves:
- Understanding of network fundamentals (laptop connectivity, VPN and printing)
- Ability to support and assist with Zoom AV infrastructure for onsite and remote events
- The desire to “automate everything” combined with technical experience, such as Bash or Python scripting, and the ability to rapidly learn the technical skills required to do so
Our customers come from all walks of life and so do we. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger. If you share our values and our enthusiasm for small businesses, you will find a home at Notion.
