What are the responsibilities and job description for the Demolding Operator position at NOV Inc.?
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify any Non-Conforming Products.
- Remove molds from the Oven and assist transfer to Rails in demolding area
- Remove Safety Caps.
- Remove all yellow-painted bolts
- Remove Heads with cutting torch.
- Air chisel Butt Plates.
- Remove Mold Bolts.
- Assist Crane Operator with empty molds
- Cut off excess PC wire on top and bottom of pole.
- Put Manufacturing tags into pole.
- Clean all open holes and entrances on poles, such as wire exits, frames, cable entrances, etc.
- Notify lead-man of any non-conforming products.
- Keep area clean and orderly. Return heads to caging area and safety rings and caps to prestress area. Grease safety caps and return safety plates for bottom of pole to molding area. Stack and clean knock-off plates.
- Assist molding crew members in preparation of molds when necessary. Maintain team cooperation throughout plant.
- Dismantle molds for storage
- Always work in a safe manner.
- Comply with all NOV Company Policies and HSE procedures .
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED.
- 1-year fabrication shop or manufacturing environment experience a plus
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Good understanding of Geometry.
- Able to read a tape measure in millimeters and inches.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and drawings required to carry out his/her job.
- Ability to use hand tools, air-operated wrenches and cutting torches.
- Must be able to operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Ability to pass drug screen and background check.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES’
- Prior forklift and lifting device operation experience a plus.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division for the purpose calculating material fabrication.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Previous experience in a heavy manufacturing environment a plus.
- Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules.
- Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Repetitive movement with hands & fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls include simple grasping, fine manipulation, pushing & pulling, and reaching with hands & arms.
- Must be able to stand/walk for 6-8 hours a day, occasional sitting.
- Requires frequent bending, stooping, twisting, reaching.
- Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Must be able to work in non-temp controlled work environment with personal protective equipment.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Safety glasses, hard hat, and steel toe boots while in shop area.
- Hearing protection when required.
