What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Generalist - Pathway Program position at NOV?
NOV is actively recruiting ambitious college/university graduates for a Human Resource Generalist role that will be part of our Pathway Rotational Program.
The NOV Pathway Rotational Program offers recent college graduates the opportunity to obtain meaningful work experiences through a structured 2-to-3-year rotational program. The program is designed to help participants develop strong functional/technical expertise and business knowledge through challenging, hands-on assignments and exposure to various groups across NOV. Towards the end of the program, participants will work with their management support team to identify full-time positions that best suit individual skill sets as well as company needs.
Each career track has its own training and experience-based learning objectives, and knowledge and performance are evaluated following each rotation. The start date for this program will be June 1, 2024 or sooner.
Following the Human Resources career track, the primary responsibilities will be as follows:
- Participants in the program will rotate through two to four rotations during the program, with rotations lasting anywhere from 6 months to 1 year. The HR track has its own training and experience-based learning objectives, and knowledge and performance are evaluated following each rotation. More information about the HR track is listed below.
- Talent Acquisition – Encompasses the activities involved in building and maintaining a workforce that meets the needs of the Talent Acquisition organization.
- Organizational Effectiveness and Development –The overall structure and functionality of the organization measurement of long-term and short-term effectiveness, growth of people and processes, and implementation of organizational change and development initiatives.
- Compensation and Benefits – The design and implementation of compensation systems and benefit packages, which employers use to attract and retain employees.
- Employee and Labor Relations – Refers to any dealings between the organization and it’s employees regarding the terms and conditions of employment.
- HR Technologies – The use of existing, new and emerging technologies to support the HR function, and the development and implementation of policies and procedures governing the use of technologies in the workplace.
- HR Strategic Planning – Involves the activities necessary for developing, implementing and managing the strategic direction required to achieve organizational success and to create value for stakeholders.
We invite you to apply if you have the following qualifications and skills:
- Recent graduate (1-2 years) or graduating prior to June 2024
- Degree in HR Management, or a related field preferred.
- Internships in HR preferred.
- Digital literacy including good command of the Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, Outlook, and working or transitioning to multiple platforms with ease.
- Passion about helping people improve their effectiveness at work.
- Experience supporting and/or leading project teams.
