What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) position at NOVA Engineering & Environmental?

NOVA Engineering is seeking a CWI/Structural Steel Inspector based out of our Ft Lauderdale, FL office. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
Primary duties include performing structural building inspections and QA/QC tests (masonry, reinforced concrete, structural steel, etc.). Some travel is required. The position will be predominately field located in South Florida.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Inspections in accordance with code and project requirements
- Interpret project plans and specifications and ensure project requirements are being met.
- Activities will include performing field testing and inspections
- Review plans and specifications, performing the inspections accordingly
- Communicate results with contractors, engineers and others
- Input results and observations into daily reports
Requirements:
- Certified Welding Inspector Certification is required
- NDT experience and certifications in UT Shearwave & MT a plus
- ICC certifications a plus: Welding, Masonry, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Steel
- Experience with bridge inspections a plus
- Valid driver's license with the ability to pass a background check and MVR report
