Pediatric Advanced Practice Provider

Job Summary

Novant Health Medical Group is looking for a compassionate, caring Pediatric Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join a growing, established primary pediatric practice in Winston-Salem, NC.  The primary care practice position would be a shared position that also supports/rotates through our brand-new pediatric after-hours clinic. The afterhours care clinic would see patients, ages 0-18 for acute medical concerns including: sore throat, cough, runny nose, stomach pain, flu-like symptoms, earaches, asthma exacerbations, cuts/scrapes that require sutures, and orthopedic injuries as well as normal newborn hospital followup.  We are looking for a candidate with at least 3 years of experience working in pediatrics and a comfort level with procedures such as suturing, abscess drainage, splinting, IV fluid orders, nebulizer and breathing treatment administration, and care of neonates.   Acute care experience in an emergency room or urgent care setting preferred.

Winston-Salem has 2 minor league baseball teams (The Winston-Salem Dash, The Greensboro Grasshoppers) and a team in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, a partner of Major League Baseball, The High Point Rockers.  We have college football (Wake Forest), several local wineries, and a large art community (theater, ballet).  We are 2 hours north of Charlotte, 2 hours to the east of the North Carolina Mountains, Asheville is less than 2 hours to the Southwest and Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill are about 2 hours to the east where you can catch some good basketball and larger concerts.  We are within 4 hours of the North Carolina beaches and less than 3 hours to Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia, a popular summer destination.  We have an international airport in Greensboro and Charlotte.

Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree Required.  Master's degree in NP program or post Master's NP program. As of January 1, 2005, all new NP graduates must have a Master's Degree. National certification required after January 1, 2000. Continuing education is mandatory for recertification and for continuing regulatory recognition to practice in the State.

Experience: One to three years of experience working in a physician practice setting Preferred

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current NP license in appropriate state, registry w/state medical bd, current DEA registry Required

Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Ability to work with management team and physicians; demonstrated customer service skills, interpersonal skills and communication skills.
