About the role:
We are looking for a motivated Talent Acquisition Coordinator to join NOVEC's Human Resources team. You will be responsible for full-cycle recruiting, including building and maintaining relationships and pipelines of talent in local and national markets while providing a top-tier candidate experience.
This position is located in Manassas, Virginia, with a hybrid schedule after an introductory period.
Overview of the role:
- Coordinates and administers talent acquisition and recruitment functions that include sourcing, screening, interviewing, testing, administering offers, background and reference checks, negotiations, relocations and post-offer processes.
- Ensures timely update of applicant tracking system data throughout the recruitment process to guarantee accurate reporting data and active management of candidate and hiring manager expectations.
- Responsible for executing approved sourcing strategies to generate a diverse pool of on-target candidates who are interested and qualified.
- Builds and maintains a network of potential candidates through proactive market research and ongoing relationship management.
- Initiates communication with the hiring mangers on the status of open positions.
- Continually seeks and uses innovative sourcing channels to convert hard-to-find passive talent including social media, resume mining, diversity resources and networking.
- Works with temporary/direct hire agencies, and attends job fairs, community events, and other parties to establish a presence in the marketplace.
- Accurately tracks and reports outreach and submittal activity data to support recruitment metrics.
- Works to increase the HR brand via various promotions about careers at NOVEC.
- Helps develop and administer ongoing college relations program, as well as high school and trade school relationships.
- Monitors budget expenditures and works with HR management to keep cost-per-hire and time-to-fill at reasonable levels.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Professional Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (over the phone and face-to-face).
- Ability to influence and compel excitement in candidates while presenting NOVEC's vast offerings.
- Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable in completing assignments and communicating with internal and external customers
- General knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Ability to travel to job fairs and other community events.
- Must be a collaborative team worker, self-sufficient, and able to work autonomously when required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Ability to utilize social media tools, job posting platforms, and ATS systems for sourcing efforts and pipeline talent.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and mediate difficult situations with diplomacy and tact.
- Experienced with using ATS systems and multiple job posting platforms for sourcing and pipelining talent.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or a related field is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three plus years of experience as a corporate recruiter. Experience recruiting for positions in the technical, engineering and/or utility industry is highly preferred.
