Our Uhrichsville Novelis team is looking to add a Quality Manager to our team. The Quality Manager will be responsible for managing and directing the surface inspection, sampling, and surface quality of the plant.
Responsibilities include:
- Equipment Set-up, Measurement of Process performance and application of appropriate controls
- Measurement Equipment including thickness gauges
- Surface Inspection library maintenance
- Determination and setting of product surface quality standards.
- Coordinating root cause determination of Surface Inspection findings.
- Process optimization and improvement activities…..Identify and lead..
- Best Practice Sharing and Awareness with CASH Team and Novelis colleagues
- Training : Material development and delivery
- Maintaining Consumables…Inspection stones, reference samples….
- Feed forward quality reporting to technical representatives and customers.
- Communication and reporting of field issues – Voice of the customer
The position requires one of the following:
- An Associate’s Degree or higher in a technical field.
- Equivalent industry experience
The incumbent is expected to be knowledgeable in the quality requirements of our customers. The incumbent will manage the surface inspection systems used on the line and provide feed forward reports to technical representatives and customers. The incumbent is expected to be familiar with processing methods of aluminum sheet including downstream customer and upstream (cold rolling and finishing, hot rolling and casting) processes performed on lines. An open, analytical mind is required. The ability to influence and direct the behavior and decision-making of others, as well as technical ability in a variety of engineering/technical disciplines is required. The incumbent must exert technical leadership and gain the confidence and respect of operators, supervision, management, customers and corporate personnel. The incumbent must be familiar with advanced control and computer systems as well as statistical techniques to monitor processes and products.
