What are the responsibilities and job description for the QHSE Supervisor position at Novomet USA Inc.?

Novomet USA is searching for an experienced leader in API quality system implementation and experienced in ISO audits. Passionate about driving continuous improvement initiatives and adapting to changes in the business landscape.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. QHSE Policies and Compliance:

  • Spearhead developing and implementing robust Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) policies, ensuring strict compliance with ISO and API standards.

2. QMS Compliance:

  • Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with ISO and API standards for the Quality Management System (QMS), including creating and maintaining policies, processes, and procedures
  • 3. Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks and hazards, conduct thorough risk assessments, and implement effective mitigation strategies to safeguard the workforce and the environment.
  • 4. Training and Continuous Improvement:
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance QHSE awareness, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and foster a culture of safety, responsibility, and innovation.
  • 5. Incident Investigation and Reporting:
  • Lead investigations into incidents and accidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations to prevent future occurrences. Gather and report consolidated HSE and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data.
  • 6. HSE Policy Development and Oversight:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, organizational procedures, and operational goals, ensuring compliance with U.S. regulatory bodies.
  • 7. System Management:
  • Oversee the Site-level HSE System, coordinating audits and assessments to maintain readiness. Participate in the Global ISO standards certification process.
  • 8. Training and Development:
  • Train and develop Site-level management and HSE personnel through technical and organizational training, guidance, advice, and mentoring.
  • 9. Regulatory Compliance and Documentation:
  • Coordinate drug and alcohol programs, conduct new hire onboarding, ensure timely regulatory reporting, and manage QA/QC documents, including certificates, calibration records, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports, and site observations.
  • 10. Quality Control and Process Improvement:
  • Actively participate in quality control, identify issues in company products and processes, ensure adherence to instructions and technical specifications, take charge of the calibration process, and encourage a personal commitment to Quality, Health & Safety.

Bring With You:

  • Education and Certification: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and recognized certifications in QHSE. Working knowledge of API and ISO QMS requirements is essential.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a QHSE role within the oil and gas industry, demonstrating a track record of successful compliance management and continuous improvement.
