Novvi is looking for an exceptional individual to be part of our interdisciplinary team developing revolutionary high-performance products derived from renewable sources. You must have a strong chemistry knowledge and working understanding of basic laboratory and chemistry techniques. Responsibilities include:
- Contribute to new product and/or process research and development
- Perform bench reaction chemistry experiments
- Use of instruments and bench screens to determine physical properties of materials including molecular weight distribution by GC, kinematic viscosity, low temperature properties, volatility, oxidative stability, and more
- Prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Analyze test results and provide recommendations/technical guidance
- Maintain laboratory notebook entries, organize chemical inventory and library of formulated materials
- Troubleshoot and maintain instrumentation
- Operate lab and pilot scale reactors, distillation, and analytical equipment
Requirements:
- B.S. degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a Physical Science (no Biological Sciences)
- Reliably generate results with some guidance. Work under little supervision for routine tasks.
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and able to quickly adapt to new software
- Precise, accurate, abundant, and tireless record keeping day to day R&D activity
- Good organization to manage multiple projects and ability to multi task among different projects at once
- Willingness to learn new techniques and concepts and apply problem-solving skills
- Able to identify out-of-trend results
- Good organization and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work in a start-up environment and embrace change
- Self-motivated and genuinely interested in being part of a small goal-oriented team that develops renewable products
- Experience working in a research laboratory setting with some lab experience or pilot scale facility
- Experience or knowledge of the following will be a plus: Viscometers, Noack volatility, Cold-Cranking simulator, Pour Points, RPVOT, TGA, pDSC

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
