Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a candidate with 2 - 4 years of marketing experience who will be responsible for managing social media and a diverse range of assignments, projects, and activities to support business goals and objectives, develop integrated advertising and marketing campaigns

  • This person will be responsible for social media marketing channels for the Direct Energy brand. They will effectively manage the execution of social media campaigns and to work cross-functionally to develop programs that enhance brand awareness, engagement, and consideration

  • This person will assist Marketing Managers in projects managing the execution of advertising and marketing campaigns across Direct Energy and Reliant brands while ensuring all projects meet expected deliverable deadlines. Should be strong in project management of creative marketing assets and should have experience with project management software

  • Requires 1-3 years of experience in social media marketing and/or project management. Adobe Workfront experience preferred

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage Direct Energy's entire landscape of social media channels, which includes Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and future platforms

  • Ability to identify appropriate content for social platforms to align with business strategy

  • Ability to provide input on social post copy and social post creative to ensure it drives social engagement

  • Support development and execution of Residential social media campaigns, working closely with the social media agency to ensure all deliverables are received for on-time execution

  • Drive appropriate scoping conversations with key stakeholders to develop social media content that garner successful business goals from Direct Energy's social media channels

  • Identify opportunities for social media, advertising and campaign improvements and engage in cross-functional initiatives to drive increased performance

  • Develop and manage social media, advertising, and campaign project briefs/workplans and lead schedules for execution to achieve goals and quality objectives

  • Monitor competitor developments and develop contingencies and make adjustments to social media campaigns, as needed

  • Collect and analyze social media data to identify market trends and potentials, user biases and preferences, etc.

  • Coordinate resolution of issues to ensure successful product/project launches

  • Obtain requirements from internal clients on marketing initiatives, create project briefs, and brief the internal creative agency on the projects

  • Manage timelines and milestones for individual projects to ensure projects stay on track

  • Present assets for reviews to internal stakeholders, obtain feedback, and clearly communicate feedback to the internal creative agency

  • Work with the internal creative agency to produce creative that is on strategy, on target and on brand by effectively kicking off the project, and constantly communicating with them about the status of the project and other relevant updates

  • Manage risk, resolve issues and take corrective action as necessary on individual projects within campaign

  • Identify research opportunities, key metrics, and processes that should or should not be repeated in future campaigns

  • Ensure all creative projects follow our internal creative process

  • Be solutions-oriented, providing recommendations for ways to solve issues as they arise

  • Create presentation and communication materials

  • Open projects and assign timeline and resources within our project management system

  • Ensure campaigns are tracked appropriately to measure and optimize campaign performance

  • Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid position. Weekly expectation 2-3 days in-office and 2-3 days remote

  • Office Location: Houston, TX

  • Travel 5%

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2 - 4 years' experience in social media required. Experience in digital marketing and project management preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or digital marketing or social media

  • Ability to think strategically to provide solutions

  • Ability to multitask and perform in a deadline-sensitive environment

  • Knowledge of project management processes, workflow and terminology (waterfall and/or agile is a plus)

  • Solid business acumen and problem-solving skills

  • Outstanding communication skills

  • Ability to work successfully in a matrix organization with competing priorities

  • Ability to facilitate meetings, set agendas, and follow up on next steps

  • Sets high expectations of self and work; self-starter, self-motivated and resourceful; takes pride in delivering quality output at all stages of project

  • You must reside in the United States to be eligible for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expected to take initiative and work well in fast-pace environment with multiple departments, projects and deadlines

  • Social media experience with creating copy and content

  • Adobe Workfront experience preferred
