Principal Consultant: Observability and IT Opps

The Principal Consultant: Transformation is an expert in one or more particular industries or verticals and is extremely knowledgeable on industry trends and the marketplace and players. This individual deals with complex client accounts.

Primarily responsible for the development of business process related solutions for clients. Viewed by customers as a consultant. Defines client needs, determines a strategy and develops a plan/proposal for delivery of the project which generally leads to a client’s internal process or function being modified for improved efficiency and effectiveness. May involve the recommendation to shift future performance to a third party. Performance is typically evaluated based on the capture of the business opportunity and/or utilization, (i.e., billable hours).

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Takes ownership of conducting meetings, writing proposals and delivering presentations.
  • Provides guidance and oversees the development of strategies and plans that define how existing and emerging technology should be utilised to support an organisation's overall business strategy.
  • Facilitate and lead client workshops with C-suite and senior level participants.
  • Use client engagement skills to identify, analyse and translate client problems into areas for improvement.
  • Provide the end to end solution set to enable the client’s business transformation.
  • Take ownership of the integration of the solution by devising the internal co-ordination of the solution implementation.
  • Attend industry and technical conferences to ensure that they remain abreast of developments in their area of expertise and related disciplines.
  • Improve the client’s business and ensuring business development by translating opportunities into innovate solutions for the client.
  • Use expertise to estimate scope of consultant and/or architect effort and accurately estimate complex project time required for completion.
  • Take ownership of client facing workshops by collecting, reviewing and analysing both IT and business issues.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise by staying abreast of current trends and best practices.
  • Guide the identification of client requirements and oversee value assessments and business process analyses.
  • Work independently to ensure the completion of the required documents related to the business transformational initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Deep vertical/domain/industry expertise coupled with consulting and client engagement experience, demonstrating good experience in client needs assessment and change management
  • Knowledge and understanding of IT industry environment and business needs
  • Excellent understanding of business transformation couple with strategic thinking ability.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
  • The ability to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the delivery of business transformation
  • Extensive knowledge of systems, software and programming languages
  • Ability to focus on detail with an understanding of how it impacts the business strategically
  • Excellent client service orientation
  • Ability to work in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to establish and manage processes and practices through collaboration and the understanding of business
  • Ability to facilitate workshops with level clients

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Degree in relevant field
  • Certified Management Consultant (CMC)
  • Relevant industry specific accreditations and/or affiliations

Required Experience:

  • Significant experience in a consulting or IT role within a large scale (preferably multi- national) technology services environment
  • In-depth experience in integrating the solutions for particular projects with the business domain, enterprise concerns, industry standards, established patterns, and best practices
  • Transformational consulting experience
  • Experience of running discovery workshops, linked to presenting findings back to the client as well as capability to interact and resolve any areas when challenged on findings and or recommendations in a collaborative and successful manner
  • Knowledge in one or more applications: AppDynamics, Riverbed Aternity/Opnet/NPM, Grafana, ThousandEyes, SignalFX, SolarWinds, Densify, LogicMonitor, Gigamon, LiveAction, DataDog, NetBrain, ServiceNow, Moogsoft, Big Panda, Tanzu
  • Some business development and pre-sales experience
  • Management consulting and business transformation track record
