Nuclera is seeking a People Partner to support the continued growth of the organisation. This role requires an individual with moderate professional experience preferably in small to medium biotech companies.
Nuclera is a venture-backed, founder-driven biotech company headquartered in Cambridge, UK with significant operations in Boston, USA. The company’s mission is to make biology accessible to everyone through desktop bioprinting. We are beginning this mission by making proteins accessible through the launch and on-going development of our eProtein desktop bioprinting platform. eProtein promises to be a breakthrough protein printing technology that brings rapid prototyping to the life science benchtop and accelerates the drug discovery process. Nuclera is entering the next phase of its growth with plans to dramatically expand its staff over the next 12-24 months offering extensive learning and career progression opportunities.
This role will work closely with our operational business units, to build a deep understanding of their strategies and enable identification and diagnosis of capability gaps which will affect the business from achieving its goals. This role involves advising the business on suitable learning solutions which will drive organisational performance whilst building strong relationships with stakeholders, collaborating and challenging to ensure best learning solutions are delivered.
The L&D Business Partner will be responsible for working with the VP of People and the rest of the People team consisting of HR and Facilities staff to help deliver a professional People service to the organization. You will interact on a day-to-day basis with the best scientists, engineers, and developers in the UK and US who are working to deliver on our mission to make biology accessible.
This role will suit an individual who has experience working in fast-paced small to medium sized biotech companies with a track record of execution and teamwork.
About the role:
- Report to the VP of People
- Ascertain the learning needs across Nuclera and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop a learning plan.
- Build a deep understanding of the business area – strategies, goals, challenges, and capability gaps and provide commercial learning solutions to address the need.
- Lead on the performance management process, pay reviews and link these to the learning plan.
- Support US-HR systems and administration (e.g., BambooHR, Workable, ADP); including staff records, holidays, and sickness.
- Support recruitment and selection of new staff including coordinating preparation of job descriptions, shortlisting candidates, interviewing, and assisting with the selection of candidate.
- Support maintenance and communication of HR policies and practices to US staff.
- Proactively recognize and support HR compliance at NUS
Essentials:
- Previous experience in L&D and HR Business Partnering roles.
- Experience in establishing credibility with business executives, with a strong ability in delivering solutions.
- Development of strategic planning and tactical actions for both current and future needs.
- Flexibility to travel to the UK.
Desirables:
- Degree / CIPD Qualification
- Good understanding of US and Massachusetts Employment Laws
- Experience in SME life-science or biotech companies

Salary : $69,900 - $88,500
