We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and experienced Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our growing Design Management Services team Richmond, VA. This role works closely with a diverse team of engineers, designers, and specialists to deliver projects to a variety of clients including municipalities, counties, commercial and industrial entities.
Job Responsibilities
- Be involved in Civil Engineering related project aspects including studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Projects may include planning, modeling, and design of facilities such as water and wastewater treatment plants, lift stations, pump stations, utilities (water transmission, gravity sanitary sewer mains, force mains, etc.), hydraulics and hydrology, drainage design, site plans, roadway, and other miscellaneous civil design projects.
- Ability to execute engineering best practices for civil engineering projects for a wide variety of clients, adapting to new environments quickly.
- Assist senior staff in the production of project plans, specifications, scheduling, budgeting, technical memorandums and cost estimates
- Assist senior staff with construction management tasks such as material submittal reviews build reviews and coordination with Contractors
- Conduct site visits, surveys and inspections, and assist with data collection, compilation and assessment for infrastructure projects
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, cities/clients, and other public agencies
