What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN position at NurseDeck?

Contract time - 08 Weeks

Timing - 12/hr in a Day(Day Shift)

Duties

- Perform basic nursing duties as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Execute physician orders and assist in examinations and treatments.
- Operate pill call and sick call procedures within the facility.
- Assist in the professional management of the facility's medical department.
- Apply appropriate nursing skills in the care and treatment of inmates/residents.
- Attend sick call appointments with the physician, prepare examination lists, and set up examination rooms.
- Dispense medication during pill call and maintain accurate documentation per policies.
- Ensure proper control and inventory of medication, syringes, and medical supplies.
- Perform emergency procedures as required.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area, following sanitation protocols.
- Document and report all activities in accordance with established policies and procedures, including medical file documentation.

Skills

Assist the supervisor in evaluating medical service provision to prevent duplication and inappropriate use of services.
Maintain strict security and confidentiality of all medical records.
Monitor closely for potential catastrophic illnesses.
May conduct audits of pharmacy use to ensure adherence to formulary.
Comply with all relevant pharmacy laws and regulations.
Observe and document inmate/resident behavior.
Inspect the medical unit for contraband items and ensure secure storage or disposal of supplies and equipment.
Assist in preparing and maintaining various records and reports, including filing and organization.
Read, comprehend, and interpret medical procedures, regulations, and legal documents.
Respond to lawsuits through corporate counsel, attend court hearings as necessary, and conduct research of charts.
