JOB PURPOSE: The Business Intelligence Analyst (Marketing) at Nuvative, Inc., will be responsible for projects related to querying, reporting, & analysis with a focus on marketing. The candidate will play a key role in analyzing marketing data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to optimize our marketing strategies and campaigns. The candidate right for this role has a combination of technical knowledge & business acumen to analyze data & provide actionable insights beyond the self-evident observations. Additionally, they must be able to automate data gathering, develop & deliver accurate executive dashboards & reports in support of decision-making that have a direct impact on all aspects of Nuvative, Inc.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Intelligence Analyst (Marketing)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure data credibility of all results that are presented regardless of the format in which the data is represented by correctly understanding both the data & business requirements behind the requests.
- Proactively gather, analyze, & Interpret data from reports.
- Work both interdepartmentally as well as with other departments to help design, develop, support, & continued maintenance of dashboards & reports.
- Create visualizations, charts, tables, & other report part objects for use by non-technical users in self-service reporting tools.
- Monitor analytics & metrics results, help implement new data analysis methodologies, review customer files to ensure integrity of data collection & utilization, as well as perform data profiling to identify & understand anomalies.
- Develop SQL queries to review & validate data, generating automated daily/weekly reports, creating relevant KPIs & Metrics.
- Transform data into insights that drive business value.
- Perform research & ad-hoc data queries as needed.
- Integrate data using multiple data sets from the database to streamline information.
- Support cross-functional teams on the day-to-day delivery of projects, initiatives, & decision making.
- Find, clean & integrate data into usable & helpful information.
- Drive the generation of insights that identifies & utilizes data analysis & measurements effectively to identify performance trends & shortfalls.
- Become the content expert & go-to reference regarding the database by creating clear, concise documentation for queries & processes as well as creating & regularly maintaining a descriptive database map with comprehensive descriptions.
- Formulating procedural manuals for scheduled reports & processes created. Analyze & improve existing queries & related documentation.
- Work with the analytics team to drive development of tools & data models to better support analytics.
- Monitor & identify gaps in reports & processes to improve their efficiency & effectiveness. Suggest & implement new systems & system improvements.
- Stay current with the latest developments in marketing analytics and apply best practices to drive business growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical thinking & ability to provide insight from analysis is required.
- 3 years of querying experience using SQL with an ability to write complex, highly optimized queries across large volumes of data.
- 3 years of experience analyzing financial business data using SQL.
- Proven track record of assisting business decisions with accurate data & analysis.
- In depth knowledge & understanding of underwriting desired.
- Preference given to those with experience in accounting, finance, lending, or marketing.
- Preference given to those with advanced Microsoft SQL Server skills such as server & query performance tuning, access controls, updating, log shipping, etc.
- Preference given to those with experience in data visualization & delivery of results in a highly digestible format.
- More consideration will be given to those with Python experience.

- Must have an analytical mind with a proven ability to analyze, develop, & maintain ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.

- Must be a good communicator, including the ability to provide analysis with a level of complexity appropriate for different audiences.
- Can work with software developers, data scientists & non-technical staff effectively.
- Ability to be both proactive & reactive in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple concurrent projects.
- Can organize, read, analyze, & interpret documents, reports, & other output.
- Highly organized & proficient at creating clear, concise documentation.
- Must be able to properly handle confidential information
