This position is with the NV5 Clean Energy group. Clean Energy is an energy planning and project management group providing owner’s representative services to public agencies and private organizations focused on renewable energy, clean transportation and decarbonization. We work with all clean energy and transportation technologies, with an emphasis on solar photovoltaic, battery storage, battery electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, fuel cells, and microgrids. Clean Energy’s projects encompass energy masterplanning, mid-to-large scale behind-the-meter generation, storage and microgrid projects, distributed generation front-of-meter projects, and fleet transition in the clean transportation space. Historically, our work has been in the western US, but we have a growing portfolio of projects across the US.We are seeking a candidate for the position of Senior Program Manager, with client-facing program management experience to track project work and develop new business for key accounts The successful candidate will have oversight of large, complex accounts with multiple subprojects and deliverables. This position will have primary responsibility for identifying new work and creating/managing proposals, and delivering successful key client experiences.The successful candidate can be located anywhere in the United States working virtually in Clean Energy’s project management team, but will be required to travel to Clean Energy’s California office and customer sites from time to time.
Responsibilities
- Actively manage key client accounts to ensure client satisfaction and identify and source new work from key clients.
- Convey overall project status to clients by means of oral discussions, presentations, and project reports.
- Serve as key client program manager to develop scope, schedule, budget and ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide support to Project Managers in planning, scheduling, and managing project budgets for key clients.
- Conduct clean energy and transportation asset management market research.
- Responsible for the effective management of your own time and effort.
- Occasional travel within the United States to attend client and NV5/Clean Energy meetings. Approximately 5-10% of time will be spent traveling.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong coordination skills working with project managers, consultants, contractors, and client staff.
- Passion for clean energy project administration and performance, including EV/EVSE, solar PV, battery storage, and microgrids.
- Ability to track and complete project work under accelerated schedules.
- Record of successfully managing complex, multiple-deliverable projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Project).
- Strong written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience with planning/design/implementation of clean energy services for large, complex projects.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in large organizations.
- Experience developing and conveying reports to public or private entities.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related technical field.
- Advanced Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel skills, familiarity with SmartSheets.
The pay range for this California position is $130,000.00- $160,000.00 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
