WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cost Analyst to join our finance team. As a Cost Analyst, you will play a meaningful role in analyzing, monitoring, and optimizing the costs associated with our operations and projects. Your expertise in cost analysis, financial modeling, and data interpretation will contribute to informed decision-making and overall financial success!
Cost Analysis: Conduct a thorough analysis of operational and project-related costs, identifying trends, patterns, and areas for improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture cost-related data and insights. Lead annual cost roll process across multiple manufacturing facilities.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline cost reporting processes, enhance data accuracy, and optimize resource allocation.
Data Interpretation: Analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights, trends, and correlations that can drive cost-saving initiatives and improvements in execution.
Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to forecast and project costs for upcoming initiatives, providing accurate and timely information to support budgeting and planning processes.
Variance Analysis: Perform detailed variance analysis to compare actual costs against budgeted and forecasted figures. Identify and communicate discrepancies, providing useful recommendations to improve cost efficiency.
Reporting: Prepare regular and ad-hoc cost analysis reports for management, highlighting key findings, cost drivers, market cost analysis and potential cost reduction opportunities.
Cost Allocation: Collaborate with accounting teams to allocate costs accurately and ensure proper cost classification in accordance with organizational guidelines and industry standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, procurement, and project management, to ensure alignment of cost-related goals and strategies.
Recommendations: Provide actionable recommendations based on cost analysis findings to help guide decision-making, mitigate risks, and optimize resource allocation.
Adherence to Regulations: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, standards, and internal policies while performing cost analysis and reporting.
YOU HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree required (ideally accounting or finance)
- Ideally 3 years as a Cost Analyst or similar role.
- Ability to work 3 days a week from our New Berlin, WI site and 2 days from home (if needed) We are also open for 5 days in the office.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and cost management concepts.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial software and ERP systems is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with manufacturing-specific cost drivers and trends is a plus.
