Job Description
The Sr. Benefits Analyst position will report directly to and work closely with the Benefits Manager, this person is responsible for the day-to-day support of all Health and Welfare and Retirement Programs, with an emphasis on Leave of Absence Administration and Retirement (401k) and Employee Ownership Programs. This includes supporting the Benefits team through data analytics, compliance initiatives, and all routine benefits processes. This is completed through interaction, understanding, review and recommendation of process / system improvements that will improve efficiencies and better prepare the organization for scale and growth.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the administration of Leave of Absence (LOA) in accordance with plan documents, federal and state laws to include the interpretation of benefit programs and procedures for all plans, including Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, FMLA, and ADA.
- Responds quickly to benefits related employee inquiries, researches issues, summarizes trends. Works with internal staff and external vendors to arrive at resolution.
- Assists with administration of all LOA and retirement 401(k) programs.
- Assists with open enrollment preparation and administration of all new or revised benefit programs.
- Responsible for the execution of benefit enrollment period and 401(k) enrollments for all new partners through M&A activity.
- Prepares regular benefit reports and audits, identifies and resolves data discrepancies.
- Assists with writing communications to employees, technical plan documents and summary plan descriptions.
- Identifies, suggests, and implements ongoing process improvements around bi-weekly M&A onboarding, annual open enrollment, and new hire onboarding.
- Responsible for facilitating Worker’s Compensation claims between employee and vendor, acting as laison to ensure appropriate claims information is provided to vendor.
- Coordinates with internal HRIS and external vendors to ensure accurate and efficient benefit interfaces, file transfers and uploads.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related discipline
- 7-10 years of experience of benefit plan, Leave of Absence and retirement plan administration
- Expert knowledge and experience of leave administration
- Proficiency in excel
- Knowledge of relevant labor laws in the states in which we operate
- High degree of personal integrity
- High level of customer service mindset and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- ADP experience is a plus
- M&A experience a plus
