Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Insurance Verifier to join our team. As an Insurance Verifier, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate insurance verification and authorization for medical procedures. This position requires knowledge of medical coding, terminology, and insurance processes.
Duties:
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients scheduled for medical procedures
- Obtain necessary authorizations from insurance companies for medical services
- Review and interpret medical records and documentation to ensure accurate coding
- Update patient information in electronic medical records system
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with the billing department to resolve any insurance-related issues or discrepancies
Experience:
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- Familiarity with medical billing and insurance
- Knowledge of managed care plans and insurance verification processes
- Proficient in using electronic medical records systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 per week
