Oasis Systems has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Engineer to provide support to the Wide Area Surveillance (WAS) program, which is within the Digital Directorate and located at Hanscom AFB, MA.
The Wide Area Surveillance (WAS) program consists of two advanced sensor systems, the Stateside Affordable Radar System (STARS) and Scorpion, incorporated into a single WAS System. Based on existing technological capabilities, WAS will detect/track low, slow and other asymmetrical threats in the airspace and meet the user needs of sensing stressing airborne targets in complex environments with affordable sensors. The sensor outputs will be incorporated into the Battle Control Systems-Fixed (BCS-F) air picture and utilized as the North American Aerospace Defense Command/ Northern Command (NORAD/NORTHCOM) Command and Control (C2) air surveillance system of record.
The Contractor will support environmental aspects of fielding government Systems; Air Force acquisition processes, standards, and guidance; familiarity with homeland defense ground surveillance capabilities desirable, as is experience with Radar systems. The contractor will further support the Government by providing technical assistance with radar site activation from an environmental perspective. Efforts will include completing Environmental Impact Analysis Processes in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act and assisting in the completion of Environmental Baseline Surveys and other environmental evaluation tasks as needed.
The Environmental Engineer to prepare, review, and update environmental investigation and recommendation reports, collaborate with environmental scientists, planners, hazardous waste technicians, engineers, and other specialists, and experts in law and business to address environmental problems. The contractor shall perform work that applies a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of environmental engineering to the acquisition process. The individual shall be able to:
- Obtain, update, and maintain plans, permits, and standard operating procedures and monitor progress of environmental improvement programs
- Provide technical-level support for environmental remediation and litigation projects, including remediation system design and determination of regulatory applicability
- Inspect industrial and municipal facilities and programs in order to evaluate operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Provide administrative support for projects by collecting data, providing project documentation, training staff, and performing other general administrative duties
- Develop proposed project objectives and targets, and report to management on progress in attaining them
- Advise corporations and government agencies of procedures to follow in cleaning up contaminated sites in order to protect people and the environment and environmental policies and standards and assist in budget implementation, forecasts, and administration
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an Integrated Product team (IPT) environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office suite
- Experience on DoD or Air Force acquisition programs desired
- Candidate must be able to obtain, and maintain the proper personnel clearance for this position

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of environmental engineering experience
