Location: Tehachapi, CA (May work on-site at a Race Communications office location; telecommuting agreeable; occasional travel may be required)

Summary:
The Administrative Assistant I oversees daily office operations and provides support to ensure efficient operation of OSP department.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Eligibility for US Employment without sponsorship
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- High School Graduate or GED is required
- Valid, unrestricted Class C driver’s license is required
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or off hours
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English as the primary language used in the workplace
- One or more years’ experience working in an office setting
- Proven proficiency in Excel
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, google earth a plus
- Experience, and is comfortable, with working independently

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Tracks and files permitting, construction, and engineering documentation; creating PRs and processing invoices
- Processes and tracks departmental billing, including creating PRs, processing invoices, and communicating with other departments as needed
- Reads and interprets construction prints, fiber designs, splice designs, maps, permits, and other similar files
- Evaluates requests for service at new or un-engineered locations, determines feasibility, drop type, and required scope of work
- Evaluates complaint tickets and communicates that information to the necessary parties both internal and external
- Prepares, updates, and maintains address records to include importing of pertinent network location information (panel and enclosure information, construction releases, and other information as needed)
- Organizes, tracks, and disseminates permit information to appropriate individuals and locations
- Responds to issues on demand with field techs including providing them with plugin information, enclosure and panel locations, and information on permitting restrictions
- Troubleshoots and evaluates any reported issues on demand with field techs and utilizes strong critical thinking skills to determine appropriate troubleshooting steps
- Tracks, assigns, processes, and clears corrective actions provided by pole owners
- Uses intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel to update and create spreadsheets, update reports, and create, combine, and update database addressing files
Other duties as necessary may include but are not limited to:
- Successfully complete assigned training and examinations, as well as participate in ongoing performance and development reviews, and goal setting
- Be available to participate in internal or external meetings, special functions, and professional development opportunities
- Cross-train and share knowledge with other team members
- Support routine tasks
