The Purchasing Manager is responsible for all phases of sourcing across multiple operating entities, from quoting to order placement and vendor management. It requires the skills necessary to identify cost savings opportunities, create competitive environments, creatively negotiate, generate contracts, and manage delivery. This position will plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of purchasing components to support ongoing production.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
- Purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Knowledge of Quality and Cost Modeling
- Professional certification in Purchasing and/or Inventory Management preferred, e.g., Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.), Certified in Production and Inventory management (CPIM) and Certified in Integration Resource Management (CIRM)
- Working knowledge of purchasing, sourcing, supplier performance management, supply chain and inventory strategies & practices; including demonstrated competency in strategic sourcing.
- Manage Quality System requirements
- Solid organizational skills and detail oriented.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office

- Responsible for all purchasing (inventory and non-inventory items).
- Control costs and generate measurable cost savings.
- Evaluate quality, price, reliability, technical support and availability of goods and services.
- Manage supplier relations and negotiate contracts.
- Work to improve purchasing systems and processes.
